SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence Review
Wednesday, April 08, 2020
You guys know that I’ve been a long time user of SK-II and today I thought I’d review the SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence since many of you often ask me about it! The GenOptics Aura Essence is a powerful essence that helps to whiten, brighten and reduce dark spots overtime.
This product contains two active ingredients – Prunus Extract and Inositol, which together with Pitera™ (SK-II’s signature ingredient that has helped transform the skin of millions of people) and D-Melano P3C, mitigate the damage of sunburn and melanin production, preventing the darkening of skin tone. Furthermore, Inositol increases clarity in cells, making skin more clear and radiant.
Those who've been following me on my social media channels (Instagram, youtube) and even on this space, would know that I've been a long time user of the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, it's been 3 years I believe! And alongside that, I was also introduced to the GenOptics Aura Essence about 1.5 years ago.
When it comes to anti-aging skincare, it is what i've always mentioned in my videos - you don't expect to see instant results overnight, but what it does is it will help to maintain, refine and slowly restore your skin's health and look over time.
It is a journey!
"When you see that your skin looks the same as it did 5, 10 years ago and everyone else around you starts to age, that is when you know your anti-aging skincare has worked for you. "
I'm not kidding when I say that my skin is still as bouncy, firm and bright as it was 5 years ago! I'm not that old, I know, but surely with the lack of sleep, frequent travelling and high levels of stress, my skin would've suffered. Thankfully for these 2 star products from SK-II, I can safely say that it helped slow down my skin's aging process for me quite significantly.
So how does the SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence help?
The GenOptics Aura Essence contains Prunus Extract and Inositol, which together with Pitera™
(SK-II’s signature ingredient that has helped transform the skin of millions of people) and D-Melano P3C, helps to reduce the damage of the sun on our skin and it also slows down melanin production, the cells that are responsible for skin darkening, preventing further spots on skin too. Inositol also increases clarity in cells, making skin more clear and radiant.
Research have also shown that after 8 weeks of continuous use, the SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence has improved the skin's aura with significant reduction in age spots and melanin, as well as an overall improvement in skin tone.
So all in all, it is a powerful essence that helps to whiten, brighten and reduce dark spots overtime, all in this little small bottle!
I usually go in with my usual skincare routine, first cleanser, then toner, then followed by the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence first, before pumping out a full drop of SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence onto my hands and pressing it into my skin.
The milky texture of this product makes it lightweight, thin and fast-absorbing which is what I love because it does not leave me with a sticky or rich feeling after.
Available in two sizes, 30ml and 50ml, making it the perfect size for travelling as well because you want this amazing product with you all the time!
The SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence is available at all SK-II Counters islandwide, and they're priced at SGD199 (30ML) and SGD299 (50ML)
I've also recently done a video explaining in-depth about these 2 SK-II products because they are one of the most highly requested and frequently asked-about as well. If you're interested to find out why I love them and also more about Pitera™ as well as the SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence & SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, you can watch it below.

ReplyDeleteWow!! This looks amazing product. Loved it. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteRecently I am a fan of natural cosmetics and I think it will stay that way. I choose local brands that draw on nature and their products are DIY. The skin is therefore enriched with only the most important minerals.
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, expatliving recently gave away Supermodel Skinfood stuff. Was hoping you'd do an honest review not paid partnership like with sheseido. My friend a New York model uses it and raves but the weather is not as humid as in it here in Singapore.
