I'm sure many of you are just like me - often running about, going to places, getting little sleep and not drinking enough water... sounds familiar? haha
Today, apart from our lifestyle habits becoming busier and more hectic, the air and the environment we live in has also gotten more polluted and contaminated. With that, our skin suffers and is prone to outdoor aggravations easily.
I've always had sensitive and dry skin growing up, and many of you probably already know that I was born with hereditary eczema prone skin, and have always lived with this skin condition all my life.
It was all fine and under control until around 2-3 years ago, when I noticed that flare ups occured more often than before, due to many reasons such as more exposure to the environment, stress, diet and even improper skincare.
To be honest, I don't really know what caused my condition to worsen so much the past few years, but when I look back, it did also help me a lot.
Firstly, I started to look more into the skincare and makeup products I was using. Often researching and reading reviews online before trying anything out on my face. That deeply widened my knowledge on skincare and also piqued my interest in beauty products.. which then led me to where I am today!
So to cut the long story short, I went on a LONG and ARDUOUS journey to find out what were the products that truly works for my sensitive & dry skin, and I’m so glad that MINON AMINO MOIST is finally in Singapore! It is a range that is dermatologically developed by a Japanese pharmaceutical company for sensitive and dry skin, hence this is why I feel safe using the products since they have also passed stringent chemical tests.
MINON Amino Moist is a super popular brand in Japan that was developed for people like me and my skin type.
It's richly formulated with 11 types of amino acids with an unique balance:
- 9 types of hydrating amino acids and ;
- 2 types of clarifying amino acids
What do amino acids do for your skin?
Everyone knows that collagen results in good skin, but do you know that 1 collagen is actually made up of 3,000 amino acids bound together?
This also means that amino acids are pico-sized and hence, able to penetrate the skin better!
Besides, the outermost layer of the skin is made up of something called the Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF), and it is also made up of amino acids, which is why amino acids is an essential ingredient to have moist and supple skin.
There are 5 main products in the range:
MINON Amino Moist Charge Lotion I (dehydrated to oily skin)
This is a lotion that acts as a toner.
The texture is very liquid, almost like water and it helps to soften the skin after cleanser.
MINON Amino Moist Charge Lotion II (dry to very dry skin)
If you have dry to very dry skin, you can opt for the Lotion II because it's richer, is more moisturizing and would be more effective at delivering more hydration to the skin.
For me, I love this lotion because it helps to take away any tight feeling after cleansing immediately, and is not greasy nor sticky at all.
On top of that, my skin feels really soft after using it!
Then, go in with the MINON Amino Moist Charge Milk, this is a gentle moisturizer that works on all skin types.
I love that it all comes in a pump so that application is more hygienic!
This cream is also super hydrating, and it doesn't smell like anything at all. Applying it on my eczema patches actually helped to soothe the itch and irritation, love it!
This is the Before and After comparison after a consumer tried the Moist Barrier Cream for 8 weeks. After seeing this, I can’t wait to see the improvement on my skin!
Next, we can't forget our eyes can we!
This is the MINON Amino Moist Barrier Cream, and this cream is very interesting because it can be used for the eye and other dry areas of the skin.
The texture is slightly denser and less watery than the cream and lotions , but a little is all you need to hydrate the eye socket.
I like to give myself a little eye massage when applying this cream!
On pampering days, I like to use the MINON Amino Moist Essential Mask
This is a highly awarded sheet mask that is super popular in Japan! Once I tried it, I knew why exactly - It is soaked in a unique gel serum that doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky or greasy after, something that I rarely see in a mask instead of the usual essence-type sheet masks.
The sheet mask is also made from a soft fibres that adhere
super well to the skin. I noticed that there wasn't any dripping of the serum even though the entire mask was soaked in it!
Look at how well the mask fits my skin!
This mask is super luxurious and comfortable especially if you have sensitive skin like I do.
People with sensitive skin would know how much fragrances and other chemicals that are often found in many sheet masks can leave our skin irritated and patchy, but this doesn't !
In fact, it calmed down all my redness and left a gorgeous glow on my skin after just one use.
I would HIGHLY recommend this whole range to you guys, whether or not you're troubled with sensitive/dry skin, your skin will definitely benefit from the ingredients used in this range!
MINON Amino Moist is available at selected Watsons.
I hope you guys enjoyed this review of mine!
Love
