Mong Goes to Taipei, Part 2 - Smith & Hsu, Wufenpu, VLOG!

Read Part 1 here.

Continuing from where we left off, here are some more visuals from the Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall! Apart from all the information it offers on Taiwan, there's also a huge and well-kept garden at the front of the main hall, with Taipei 101 in the background!

We couldn't resist a photo with it, but argh it was so difficult to get a shot without groups of tourists inside hahaha, so don't get your hopes too high if you're intending to go to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall for photos.
The garden is lined with rows and rows of flowers, and I'll definitely say it's worth the trip there!
I would suggest setting aside 1 hour for photos, and another 1 hour to get to know more about t
he country here.

The memorial hall is also very accessible by the metro. From Taipei Main Station, take the Tamsui (red) line to Xindian. If you're coming from Ximen MRT Station, use the green line to get to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall MRT station.

Get out via exit 5 and you'll see it~

We spent the evening having lots and lots of food (as usual) and I'm gonna save the updates for the VLOG below! We visited almost all the night markets throughout our 4 days there, so that was literally where we had dinner everyday!

Ximending, Raohe and Shilin night markets are all really really good :)

The next day saw us awake pretty early as we hunted down the fanciest tea house of Taipei, Smith & Hsu. Smith & Hsu is an upmarket tea salonlocated at a few parts of Taipei and they are famous for their tea sets, scones and most importantly, the interior!
We opted for the English Afternoon Tea Set (NT$1280) that serves 2-4 people.
This was by far the most expensive afternoon tea set i've tried because it costs a whopping SGD$62 for just tea and scones. But the selection of fine tea leaves were insane and scones were one of the best ive tried since I last went to england.
A selection of dried tea leaves were brought to us in a tray. With the Afternoon English Set, we were entitled to 2 pots of tea and we chose Turkish Apple and the Bulgarian Rose Green Tea.
4 scones, 2 clotted cream, 2 English farm jam, 2 tea jelly, 2 pieces of cake, 3 cookies, 6 small sandwiches, 2 pots of tea of your choice

We were stuffed! Even though it looked quite little for 3, it was actually really filling especially with all the sandwiches and scones. Would I have it again? Probably not. It's super expensive!
Nice is nice la hahaha

After brunch we headed to an area near Wufenpu and chanced upon this oriental hideaway along the way. I don't really know the name of this place but if you recognize this park, please let me know the name of it in the comments below!

It was mad pretty! With a tiny little lake that made this sight look like something from those ancient shows, I can't believe they actually have public parks that looks so pretty for people to drink tea and admire the skies :>

We barely did any shopping in Taipei because our main focus was FOOD as you guys can already tell ><  But a visit to the Wufenpu Wholesale Market (五分埔)is a must!
I didn't buy anything there, but I can totally see it being the shopping heaven for all ladies because things were pretty cheap!
Clothes have an average price of SGD$12 to $15 and they are of pretty decent quality as well. Ladies who are huge on the korean fashion trend will definitely love Wufenpu!

Last but not the least... check out the first part of our VLOG in Taipei where I covered most of what I ate there at the night markets!
Didn't want to drown you guys in too much food so I've decided to split the "what I ate" food VLOG to 2 parts, this being the first - Ximending Night Market & Raohe Night Market.

Please subscribe if you haven't joined the fam yet!

Enjoy!
