泰好吃 Thai Hao Chi Mookata Review
Friday, April 22, 2016
A few weeks back, I visited Thai Hao Chi Mookata with my family and that sparked me to write this review. As you guys know, I'm a big foodie and while my vocabulary to describe food is limited, I will try my best to consolidate all of our reviews that night into this one post. And hopefully, do Thai Hao Chi Mookata some justice haha!
Firstly if you have no patience to read till the end, i'm just gonna tell you that I LOVED IT and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking them out if you're on the lookout for a good, comforting mookata in Singapore at friendly prices.
Located at 908 Upper Thomson Road, S(787111), you can easily spot the space from far with its light ensemble that spells the product they are very proud of - Mookata
Kudos to the really cute and pun-y name too! For my non-chinese readers, Thai Hao Chi translate to
泰好吃/太好吃 which means "super delicious"
A lot of you guys mentioned that there are 2 Mookata outlets in Upper Thomson, so here's a clearer distinction in case you guys want to visit Thai Hao Chi - Thai Hao Chi Mookata is located at Springleaf, not the other one located next to Salted Caramel and Udders. I personally prefer Thai Hao Chi more!
I think food like Mookata really is very appropriate for gatherings and big groups because there's just a sense of togetherness, and reunion... you know?
I'm so glad I brought my family & sarah there because we all enjoyed it so much and unanimously agreed that this place was the best mookata we've had in Singapore.
The standard Mookata Set comes with an assortment of seafood and meat platter - Prawns, squid, sausage, chicken, pork, pork belly, crab sticks, pig's liver, meatballs
As well as a basket of vegetables & noodles.
For $39.90, this can feed 2-3 pax which is SUPER worth it. Imagine only paying $13 for this much food! And if you're a group of 4 girls that are small eaters, I think this would be sufficient as well.
What I loved about the food was the really tasty soup broth. To me, there are a few things that need to be checked before you can call it a good mookata.
1. Soup base - This was so tasty, I drank it as a soup before i even added the ingredients in to cook! I also heard that their soup bases are FREE of MSG and had been simmered for long hours before serving, and hence the good flavor.
2. Marinated Meat - It was to my surprise that despite having so many choices of meat, each one of them were marinated super well. My favourite would be the marinated chicken that was so tender, and the marinated beef that we ordered on the side.
Thai Hao Chi Mookata is also very famous for their Thai Styled Abalone, which my parents loved very much. Oh, and how can I forget the huge jug of Thai Iced Milk Tea???
Because Chaa Yen FTW, LOL! This jug was only $2.80 and it was much much better than the average ones i've tried in singapore. For half the price even, whutttt.
My family and I had such a great time at 泰好吃 Thai Hao Chi Mookata and it was what inspired me to write this post. I realise I hardly do reviews on food nowadays, so here's to sharing on a topic I am very passionate about once again, food!
P.S I'm having a voucher giveaway on my Instagram right now, so if you'd like to win yourself some vouchers to visit Thai Hao Chi Mookata, be sure to check out my instagram page for more details on how to enter!
